Romanian legislation is continuously evolving, with the aim to sustain economic growth and the general progress of society, and the legislative bodies and governmental institutions encourage the involvement of private organizations in public debates and transparent consultation procedures, in order to get the most appropriate legislative solutions.

Nevertheless, such public consultations and targeted debates need above all strong legal arguments well integrated within the Governmental program with the right political support.

We have designed, and continue to design, for our clients the legal argumentation and the technical path for advocating their causes before policymakers. For this, we rely not only on our lawyers but also on the specific organizations that have this role according to the law, by participating in their decision-making bodies.

To give a few relevant examples, we have designed the following legislative changes (now in force), which have had a huge impact:

  • Contribution to changes to the labor legislation in 2011, namely the new Labor Code and the Social Dialogue Law by drafting some of the texts and by sustaining their adoption.
  • Relevant amendments to Government Ordinance no. 80/2000 regarding the certification and/or the homologation of equipment, spare parts and operating materials used on road vehicles, by repealing the article which stated that “inserting counterfeit products onto the market constitutes an administrative offence” in order to qualify this action as a crime.
  • Relevant contributions for drafting the text and for sustaining private companies’ position during the debates organized by the Chamber of Deputies – Committee for Industry, until the adoption and the entry into force of Law no. 83/2014 on employee inventions, a very important and necessary law for the Intellectual Property protection of businesses.
  • Relevant contribution to drafting and supporting the amendments to Law no. 248/2013 regarding the  Economic and Social Council, during the debates organized by the Chamber of Deputies - Committee for Labor, in order to unblock the Council’s activity.
